AAFF 2026 Will Meet Audiences in Accra and Online

The Abibitumi Abibifahodie Film Festival 2026 will meet audiences in more than one place. From October 16–18, the festival will connect an Accra-based experience with online participation, creating a shared gathering for filmmakers, students, cultural workers, and viewers across the Black world.

AAFF’s hybrid structure reflects the community it serves. Black creators work throughout Abibiman and the diaspora. Their audiences are equally dispersed. Bringing those communities into one festival conversation makes it possible for a screening in Accra to generate discussion, collaboration, and support far beyond the people physically present.

The 2026 program welcomes feature films, short films, student films, documentaries, animation, and AI-infused work. Whether a filmmaker works with a camera crew, an archive, drawn images, or emerging digital tools, the central question remains: what becomes possible when Black stories are created and encountered within a Black-centered institution?
