Stories Need Institutions: Invite Media Builders to Open D.O.O.R.

A film can change what an audience sees. A durable media institution can change what a people are able to remember, distribute, finance, and defend. That is why filmmakers and media workers belong in conversations about repatriation and ownership.

The Open D.O.O.R. Dialogues Inaugural National Dialogue will meet on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the University of Ghana College of Humanities. Media engagement sits alongside student recruitment, entrepreneurship and innovation, exhibitions, networking, keynotes, and diaspora repatriate perspectives.

Invite a filmmaker, photographer, writer, editor, archivist, broadcaster, or distributor who understands that cultural production is part of institution-building. The room needs people who can document the work and people who can build channels through which Black stories remain under Black control.

Register and share the official D.O.O.R. invitation.
